All discussion of the game's plot goes here.

The Story Thus Far:
Millennia ago, there was "Templaria." A mysterious and powerful book destined to bring wrought and ruin upon the world. For generations, the evil book Templaria sent forth its spawn, the Cantos, beings of ink, to cleanse the world of life, and claim it as its own. The Elders, great, wise effigies, eventually found the sinister book, and, after a long, grueling battle, managed to seal away the dark book's power and hide it in their mystical archives, to never be found by a human. Or so they thought...

Millions of years later, an ancient tomb, labeled the "Library," was discovered by mankind. All hell breaks loose. Templaria's power, now reawakened, unleashes great destruction upon the new world. The portal to Dusk, the fabled world of the Cantos, Temparia's minions and spawn, had been ripped open, dark figures inundating the world. But as quickly as it happened, the portal closes itself. The Shades, due to their nature, quickly crush all resistance and the world's governments and military are obliterated with ease. However, the appearance of the Cantos has awakened a power in humans previously untapped: magic. Using this new-found power, several heroes of mankind ultimately destroy the Cantos and banish them back to the void of Dusk. These heroes, now dubbed the Union, proceed to conquer the new world. Several years later, this magical power is still active in humans, and there are words of the ancient portal being re-opened once again...

Characters:

The Protagonist:
"It's people like you that make the world even worse..."
A quiet, introverted adolescent recently transferred to the infamous Templar High. Not many details are known about his past, but at least he's not an orphan. His mom died during his birth, and his father, mad with grief, abused, berated, and tortured him regularly. Eventually, he was able to escape, and found Templar High as a place of refuge. One of the few individuals aligned with the Axiom Affinity. This aspect makes him a center of attention in some places and a pariah in others. However, his alignment with the Affinity enables him to use powerful and mysterious magic... in the future.

Serra Novelia
"You know, I think a tea break is in order!"
A calm, perky individual that also attends Templar High with the Protagonist. Raised among two, neglecting parents that only barely managed to keep her alive, she fled as soon as she came of age in the magical world. Her disposition is undeniably cheerful, as there are few people who can resist smiling or even a simple grin in her glowing presence. She is aligned with the Gaia Affinity, one that is known for both its destructive and calming abilities.

Dominic Grant
"Obviously you've never heard of me, if you did, you would be scared out of your wits!"
If there is something missing, Dom took it, if there is a charred stain of ink in the school lobby, Dom did it, pretty much any heinous act or loser beaten to a pulp, Dom did it. His fight record isn't perfect, but it isn't anything to cough at. His detention record is even longer. While one would normally think such a destructive individual could never make friends, he made an unlikely one: The student who helps the nurse. His frequent visits gave him plenty of time to make friends with her and learn that maybe, some people don't need the snot beaten out of them. Of course, that doesn't make his fights any less fun.

Christa Te'Kras
"Just because I can help you, doesn't mean you can try to killed every day!"
Christa's family has always been known for one good thing: healing. The Te'Kras family were famous clerics, and it was no small event when their most recent child decided to enroll in Templar High. A student who regularly does business in the school's infirmary, she is an expert in both inflicting and restoring wounds thanks to her Proton Affinity. Contrary to what her cold, indifferent exterior, hardened by years of neglect, may suggest, she possesses a personality of both empathy and compassion.

Tina Leause
"Maybe you need a time-out!"
A boisterous, quirky little girl who boasts an amazing height of 4'11'' (she's tall, just leave her alone). Her inordinate skill in magic is completely unprecedented by most enemies, easily allowing her to obliterate the opposition with her powerful spells. Unlike the majority of the school's Students, Tina voluntarily decided to enroll in Templar High, trying to see how much of a difference she actually could make. Her Affinity clearly matches her disposition: Flare. Don't insult her height, or she'll kill you.

Matthias Kaishin
"Get ready, this is gonna sting REAL bad!"
Eccentric and absolutely unpredictable, Matthias has always been known around Templar High as the school's prankster. Using his mastery of the Frost Affinity to freeze toilets and pull off other annoying pranks, he also is never at a lack of words to say. There are few who can touch him in battle, yet he will always find his mark upon the most vulnerable point on his enemy. Like Tina, he too entered Templar High's enrollment on his own volition, although his initial intentions are unknown.

Jason Corona
"You think you can even touch me?! Who's laughing now?!"
A braggart that can only be described in one simple term: troll. Cocky and arrogant due to his Axiom status, Jason cares little for those below him (which is, in fact, everyone). Hates the Protagonist, because of his alignment with the Axiom Affinity. Not much is known about him, and his boasting makes him a much hated, yet quite popular figure among school society.

Kazuma Ichida
"...This is my story! I can't let you destroy it!"
A foreign exchange student from the land he calls "The Apex of the Moon" (What used to be a very popular eastern country, before the world's boundaries fell). His intentions, demeanor, and past are all shrouded in the same mystery that both wards off people, and attracts them. He is also the only student to have yet to register their affinity with the Institute.

The Dungeon
On the first floor of the basement of Templar High exists the entrance to the school's library. Or what could be called a library. There is no source of light whatsoever, making the place seem more akin to a dungeon, and there is an obvious lack of sexy librarians (or librarians at all, for that matter). After school and during the breaks, tons of Students flock to the library's entrance waging petty battles, settling gruesome grudges, making out, and the whatnot. However, not many people actually go into the school's underground library, thanks to a horrific myth.

Apparently, no soul that has ventured inside the library has ever returned. Urban legends tell that the school has forgotten about the poor souls who have been lost in the sprawling dungeon of the library. Proponents of this myth tell that this myth explains the relative lack of any kind of restriction of entrance into the library. Despite this myth, some brave Students are forced to go into the library to find some obscure book for an assignment, or simply test their mettle on the mysterious creatures fabled to live there. However, those who call themselves Acolytes regularly make their rounds in the underground library. Nobody knows exactly what the Acolytes do in there, but their lack of injury makes them somewhat of suspects among school society.

According to ancient schematics, the underground library has four floors: the entrance, the first floor, second floor, and the final basement. Brave Students have gone into the first floor and returned, but nobody has ever ventured into the second and third floors and come back.

Random points that need to be addressed:

What is the purpose of Templaria? What IS Templaria?

What makes the Protagonist and his initial group venture into the underground library in the first place?

Why do teammates join up with you after you beat the pulp out of them?

How do the Cantos escape?

How does Serra get possessed (and ultimately die)?

And more...

Serra tugged on Protag's sleeve like an impatient child. "C'mon man! These are always fun to watch!" Protag blew the hair form his eye and sighed heavily, "Why would anyone want to watch two jerk wads beat each other up?" Serra giggled slyly and said, "Not the fights stupid, and only Dom's the Jerk-wad!" She yanked heavily on Protag's sleeve and he stumbled forward into the bush. "Why should I even care? I've got tests and-" "SHHHHHH!" Serra pressed her hand against Protag's mouth. "Its because of the library!"

Protag looked at the decrepit building, and in the distance, you could hear a zap and a small burst of fire. "So waht, Its just filled with books?"

Serra wagged her finger in his face and said "You've never heard of the legend?!" Protag groand and rolled his eyes over and said sarcastically, "Does it have anything to do with murders, ghosts, or monsters?" Serra paused a second and got behind protag, "Well, two-thirds isn't half bad right?" Protag sighed once again "I'm getting out of-"

Serra shoved him forwards with all her strength (And a bit of earthen force), protag stumbled forward and slammed into the door.

"We're only going to go through the first floor! I mean, its not like anything bad happens on the first floor!"

Protag thought to himself as he opened the doors, "As opposed to the second?"

Each level of the underground library has 5 sub-levels: A, B, C, D, and E. Once you enter a level and then a sublevel, you cannot exit the library until you complete that sublevel. At sublevel E lies the week's boss. You can return to any sublevel you have already completed outside of the library.

D: too bad she dies....

other suggestions for her lines

part1
[protag's name] , I LOVE YOU
DO YOU LOVE ME?
BECAUSE I LOVE YOU
[protag], i'm really in love with you. you know that, right?

part2
WHY ARE YOU SO IRRITATING?
I WANT TO HEAR YOU SCREAM.
YOUR CRIES OF HELP ARE THE ONLY THING I LOVE ABOUT YOU.
I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU
C'MON, IT WON'T HURT THAT MUCH.
WHY DON'T YOU DIE ALREADY?
STOP COMPLAINING!
IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO BURY YOU ALIVE, THEN DIE ALREADY!

>30% hp
hurry! kill me before it takes over again...
help me...
kill me! please!

i suggest using the protag's name a lot in her speech, if possible. Smile

Protagonist doesn't have a name. He's simply referred to as "you" or in most cases he's simply not addressed in the sentence.

Of course, this could change.

TRAGIC ENDINGS

The Protagonist may choose to be romantically involved with any of the three characters:

Serra

Christia (Kaida)

Tina

A relationship will be pursued if the MC decides to talk to one of the girls, besides Serra. In this case, Flag no.1 is hit. If Flag no. 1 is hit the Protagonist may still choose another relationship, but Flag no.1 enables MC to further that relationship.

If a little bit later MC decides to check back into a girl he already has Flag no.1 in, if he chooses the right option, Flag no.2 will be hit. Again, even if Flag no.2 is hit the MC can still sway to another relationship.

Once the final subfloor of the current level is reached, if MC checks back into a girl with Flag no.2 already hit, if the right option is chosen, Flag no.3 will be hit. At this point, the Protagonist may choose to "become good friends" with said girl. Freedom to change relationships is still retained.

A relationship cannot be furthered if Flag no.3 has not been obtained. A relationship can be broken (permanently) if MC decides to be a total ass.

Serra is the default romantic path. If the Protagonist chooses not to talk to any of the other two characters, the story will auto-guide these two into a relationship. If Flag no.3 is not hit by any girl once Matris Graphica is defeated, the Protagonist will automatically hit Flag no.3 with Serra.

There are 10 flags in total, 3 flags every week, except for the last week, which has 4.

The MC may choose to continue hitting flags with his current relationship during the course of the story. However, by the end of the story, if the Protagonist did not hit 10 flags, that current relationship will die.
